Samir Patel, MD is a full time practicing physician board certified in the art of Emergency Medicine. He also is an avid outdoor enthusiast and is a Fellow of the Academic Wilderness Medicine. Having previously served as an instructor and basecamp physician throughout the world including in Mongolia and Tanzania, he has a passion for bringing high quality medical care to all corners of the world.

While California born, Dr. Patel grew up in Florida before relocating to Massachusetts to complete both undergraduate and medical school. He now lives in the greater Triad area working with his amazing partners to bring quality medical care to the area.

In his free time, Dr. Patel can often be found hiking/biking, binging Netflix with his wife in the evening, and exploring the Triad Area.

Julie Gupton is a Certified Physician Assistant (PA) experienced in Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine. Having earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering as well as her Master’s in Medical Science in PA Studies. Prior to practicing medicine, she participated in Orthopedic research focusing on knee injuries and treatment.

Julie has worked as a PA for over a decade in several local emergency departments and urgent cares. She has also precepted numerous PA students and enjoys teaching future medical providers. She loves caring for patients of all ages but has a special place in her heart for children and teens.

Julie is a native of Raleigh having moved to the area in 2006 to complete her PhD at Wake Forest University. She currently resides in Winston Salem with her two Golden Retrievers, Comet and Nora. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, playing board games, hiking and traveling.

Abigail Rooks is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience in various disciplines of medicine. She graduated first in her class with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and again graduated first in her class with a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University in 2014.

Like her partners, Abigail has shared a vision of bringing access to high-quality, convenient care to the residents and communities in regions of North Carolina that still lack these services. Having experienced providing care in the emergency and retail fields, she understands the need to provide urgent, but non-emergent, services in places where hospital emergency departments are not easily accessible.

Abigail has lived her entire life in North Carolina. She enjoys baking, world travel, and watching her daughter play softball. Abigail currently resides in Oak Ridge, North Carolina with her husband, teenage daughter, and a small zoo of furry friends.
